Hulu ordered a 10-episode mini series the legendary Wu-Tang Clan.
RZA created the Wu-Tang mini series. The The Wu-Tang Manual and Tao of Wu are the inspiration behind this project. The series is based on the true story of how the Wu-Tang Clan came to be.
“Wu-Tang: An American Saga” is set in 1990s New York City during the height of the crack cocaine epidemic and follows “the Clan’s formation, a vision of Bobby Diggs aka The RZA, who strives to unite a dozen young, black men that are torn between music and crime but eventually rise to become the unlikeliest of American success stories.”

Johnell Young as Gary
Young will play Gary, Bobby’s older cousin who introduced him to hip hop and is also an aspiring MC—which he will someday achieve and be known as the GZA. He has a scientific mind and a spiritual side and being older than the other peers he becomes a source of inspiration of hip hop and mathematics.
Ashton Sanders as Bobby Diggs
Bobby is from the streets and is used to the life that it brings however he is truly creative and thoughtful at heart. While he deals with street business by day to provide for his family, he dreams of a life in the music industry. Having been raised on a farm by his uncle, Bobby has a different outlook on life than his friends and brothers. We’ll come to know him as hip-hop icon The RZA.
Julian Elijah Martinez as Divine
Divine is described as clean cut and serious. He is a street boss and has built a name for himself since he was young. However he’s now ready to move up in the game. He’s the older brother of Bobby who is also apart of his crew, and who he often comes down on too hard at times. Divine eventually ends up behind bars and tries to keep the operation moving from behind bars.
Shameik Moore as Sha Rader
Down on his luck but would never tell anyone about it, Sha Rader is a gunner for drug dealer Power Grant, a kid who grew up on the streets who now wields a gun without blinking. He’s still got some innocence to him, however, and his friendship with Bobby makes it tough to carry out his orders.
Siddiq Saunderson as Dennis ‘D-Love’ Coles
19 years old but already a man, Dennis “D-Love” Coles takes care of his young siblings while his mother drinks herself to sleep. Coles is also Divine’s right hand man and is known to handle any situation. He’s a loyal person that will help him grow into the artist Ghostface Killah.
Caleb Castille as Darryl ‘Chino’ Hill
Hill is an inmate in the same prison as Divine, and is from a rival gang of Divine. Castille has a recurring role in the Wu-Tang mini series.
Anthony Chisholm as Old Chess Player
The Old Chess Player is an older man with a sense of humor. The Old Chess Player beats Bobby in a few games of chess at the park.
Griggs plays Shurrie. Multi-talented and optimistic, Shurrie might be the second-youngest of four, but she’s basically the woman of the house. Shurrie takes care of herself and her home life. All the while, she’s focused on her schooling. And unbeknownst to anyone, Shurrie is in a relationship with Dennis.
Dave East as Shotgun
Shotgun is tall, with a knack for rhymes. He takes pride in being the assistant manager at the concession stand next to the Statue of Liberty. A popular figure in Staten Island, he stays above the turf wars.
Vincent Pastore as Larry
Pastore stars as Larry in a recurring role in the Wu-Tang mini series. Larry runs a local rib joint and can be found chatting his customers ears off about the lavish history of Staten Island and its Italian influence.
Erika Alexander as Linda
Linda is an over worked mother of four who has been through hell and back. Now rid of her abusive husband, Linda spends most of her time at the rib shop working. She works for Larry to put food on her table, however it doesn’t fix the strained relationship she has with her children.
Augustin will star as Rakim in the Wu-Tang mini series.
Marcus Callender as Power Grant
Power is quiet and focused to an unsettling degree, Power Grant is the top dog of Park Hill, an area in the projects that he and his gang control as the chief rivals to Divine’s crew in Stapleton.
Armen Garo as Vinnie
Garo will play Vinnie, an Italian mobster, friend of Fat Larry and Patxi. He has a recurring role in the Wu-Tang mini series.
