Jamie Foxx’s Pilot ‘White Famous’ Heads to Showtime

Showtime has ordered the pilot of Jamie Foxx and Tom Kapinos half-hour comedy, ‘White Famous.’ The series centers on a young, African-American comedian who is working on moving from being just black household famous to cross over and become white famous.

“I came up from standup comedy, so to be able to share that aspect of my life on-screen with a project like ‘White Famous’ is incredibly exciting,” said Foxx who will have a recurring role in the series. “We couldn’t have found better partners than SHOWTIME, Lionsgate and Tom Kapinos to tell this story in the best possible way.”

Written by Kapinos, Foxx will executive produce the series along with co-production between Lionsgate Television and Showtime. ‘White Famous’ will be Foxx’s first time back on TV since he starred in the sketch comedy series “In Living Color” and his own series, “The Jamie Foxx Show.”
