Sunday night the stars came out for a joyous occasion to tribute the man behind the soulful melodies and feel good music, Stevie Wonder. The Grammy-sponsored special, Songs in the Key of Life: An All-Star Grammy Salute, came on the heels of his tribute during Music’s Biggest Night last Sunday. All performers chose their favorite song from Stevie and covered it during the televised event.
Beyonce was given great praise for her three-song medley. Bey opened up her bit with “Fingertips,” was joined by Ed Sheeran to cover “Master Blaster (Jammin’),” and ended her explosive nine-minute performance with Gary Clark, Jr. for “Higher Ground.”
Jennifer Hudson, John Legend, Pharrell Williams, Ryan Tedder, India Arie, Ariana Grande, and others also serenaded the crowd before Stevie took the stage to perform. He did a medley of some of his biggest hits like “Contusion,” “Sir Duke,” “You Are the Sunshine of My Life,” “Ribbon in the Sky,” “Overjoyed, and “Superstition,” to close out the star-studded tribute.
