Are you ready for the conclusion of ‘The Best Man’ trilogy?
It was just announced that Malcolm D. Lee’s third installment has been given a release date—and there isn’t a 14 year wait.
Via Entertainment Weekly:
“The third film, which follows 2013′s ‘The Best Man Holiday’ and 1999’s ‘The Best Man,’ is titled ‘The Best Man Wedding’ and will be released on Friday, April 15, 2016.”
The film’s description reads: the gang returns to “celebrate the group’s most unexpected wedding to date.”
‘The Best Man Wedding’ comes as the perfect continuation of the last film. ‘The Best Man Holiday’ ended with Q—played by Terrence Howard—announcing his impending marriage to Harper (Taye Diggs) and Lance (Morris Chestnut). They didn’t say who it would be, but from the sex chemistry between Howard and Melissa De Sousa’s character, Shelby, it wouldn’t be a shocker if she was the bride.
Malcolm D. Lee put together the perfect cast and it was proven by his 14 year gap in between both films that the chemistry was still there. The question is will all be returning for the last picture and by all we mean, Monica Calhoun. She passed away in the ’13 release, but if he reverts to his flashback tactics from the original, we’re sure she’ll be there in memory.
Those questions and more will be answered (hopefully) in the trailer, which is what we’re patiently waiting for.
