Marsha Ambrosius’ sophomore album ‘Friends & Lovers’ is out today. It’s been a long-time coming as well as a lengthy creation process. The follow-up to her solo debut Late Nights & Early Mornings, was a three year process to develop.
Unlike her first album, she took her time with her new release. She told Singersroom:
“It’s just feel crazy this time around because it’s real. The first time around was like, let me get the album out, let’s make sure the album is right, let me do what I need to do and I did that to myself. I put all of the things I need to do on the album with the last album. But, the second album is more concentrated, it’s very conceptual. I enjoy being absolutely single with some friends and lovers.”
Her 14-track project features only two guest appearances. Dr. Dre appears on the previously released single “Stronger” and Charlie Wilson helps close out the album with “Spend All My Time.”
