Skillz Reflects on 2014 in Five Minute Rap ‘2014 Rap Up’


If you forgot what happened in 2014, give Skillz’ annual song spin. Titled “2014 Rap Up,” the Virginia rapper recalls the significant moments of all 12 months in five minutes.

The “2014 Rap Up” edition starts with the Oscars (“Lupita Nyong’o won the Oscar, congrats to you girl and Ellen probably took the best selfie in the world”). He highlights on the racist moments (“Donald Sterling didn’t have to say a thing”), internet shut downs (“Mimi and Nikko sextape weak though” and “Solange in the elevator swinging for blood”), couple splits, and #BlackLivesMatter (“unity is what we need, not another man with his hands up saying, ‘I can’t breathe'”).

The “2014 Rap Up ” will be featured on Skillz’ and Bink’s album, Made in Virginia, which drops today (Dec 31).
