Sandra Bland’s story is spreading like wildfire after she was found hung in her jail cell. Police said she died from “self-inflicted asphyxiation,” but everyone that knows her or is simply learning about this story doesn’t believe that to be true. Now everyone wants to know what happened to Sandra Bland?

According to Waller County Sheriff’s Department in Texas, when the 28-year-old was pulled over on Friday for improper signaling a lane change. Police said she was “combative on the side of the road,” assaulted a police officer, and was taken into custody, which is why she was in jail at the time of her death.

ABC7 I-team obtained a video taken by bystander Malcolm Jackson the morning of the arrest. He describes the incident as the police “pulled her out of the car, forced her and tossed her to the ground, knee to the neck, and arrested her.”

The video shows several officers on top of Bland restraining her as she questions why they are being so rough.

“You just slammed my head into the ground. Do you not even care about that? I can’t even hear!” You can hear Bland is heard saying this to the officers. “You slammed me into the ground and everything.”

You can also hear police officers telling Jackson he “needs to leave.”

Bland recently moved from her Chicago to Texas after she accepted a job position in student outreach at her alma mater, Texas Prairie View A & M. She was jailed on Friday until Monday at 9 am where she was found dead, hung in her cell.

Family and friends tell the I-team they suspect foul play.

“I believe that we are all 100 percent in belief that she did not do harm to herself,” her friend Cheryl Nanton said. Another friend, LaNitra Dean says she spoke out about police brutality often on her Facebook page and “was critical of injustice against African Americans—The Waller County Jail is trying to rule her death a suicide and Sandy would not have taken her own life. Sandy was strong. Strong mentally and spiritually.”

The Texas State Rangers are overseeing the investigation of Sandy Bland’s death. They have yet to comment on the video.
