Terrence Howard and Mike Epps teamed up for the crime thriller .38. Paula Patton is in talks to join the cast.
Described as a End of Watch meets Crash film, .38, follows a rookie cop‘s first night patroling St. Louis’s streets. After a brutal killing occurs, the cop witnesses his fellow officers’ close bond with one another, regardless of skin color.
Howard will play a detective whose daughter goes missing on the fateful night. Epps will portray a seasoned cop with family ties to a neighborhood gang leader. Epps will also butt heads with the rookie cop. Lastly, Patton will play Epps’ partner once her negotiations for the movie are over. In her role she consoles the daughter of a murdered man and then joins her team to track down the killer.
Production on .38 is set to begin this May in Thomasville, Georgia.
