Pantene Says Stop Apologizing!
How many times has some one told you, “you don’t have to say sorry.” As you proceed to repeat the same apology, this time for saying it? Well Pantene wants you to cut that shit out your vocabulary. Yes it’s that serious.
Continuing their gender equality ads, they take on the apologetic word that has become synonymous within women’s conversation.
“We’ve struck a chord in terms of changing gender norms for women,” Proctor & Gamble’s North American marketing director, Kevin Crociata said of their latest commercial. “We used market research to look at what gender norms were holding women back and tried to tap into the most relevant and insightful areas. This problem of saying sorry, it wasn’t just something women in the U.S. were facing but globally.”
Throughout the one-minute commercial women speak the common phrase in situations that its unnecessary, however as ridiculous as it sounds its the norm. And If you’re a repeat offender of spewing the word throughout your day, it’ll hit close to home. Prepare yourself.
