Nicki Minaj Denies Shading Iggy

Sunday’s (June 29) BET Awards was a complete shade show.

However Nicki Minaj raised the bar completely with her mega diss. Without naming any names she affirmed the reasons why she’s was accepting her fifth consecutive BET award for “Best Female Rapper.” Taking to the mic, the Pink Print femcee vowed she wrote all her lyrics.

“What I want the world to know about Nicki Minaj is when you hear Nicki Minaj spit, Nicki Minaj wrote it—No, no, no shade, no, no, no shade.” Obvious shade. She also declared that she’s authentic, “And I hope and pray that BET continues to honor authenticity.” Taking one more dagger.

As a true pot stirrer, she failed to name drop but thanks to her actions all fingers pointed towards Iggy Azalea. The Australian white rapper is also on top of the game for females. So it wouldn’t have been a complete shocker if she nabbed the award from Nicki.

Either way, in Beyonce-fashion, the award winner didn’t deny or confirm if the shots she threw had a target. Until this morning that is. Creating her own #AskNicki segment on Twitter—much more successful than Robin Thicke’s attempt—the Queen barb addressed her interesting speech.

In a series of tweets she addressed the “fabricated” Iggy shade stating she supports her fellow rapstress, “I’ve congratulated Iggy on the success of Fancy, publicly. She should be very proud of that. All the women nominated should b proud.”

As well as her support for women writers. “The media puts words in my mouth all the time and this is no different. I will always take a stance on women writing b/c I believe in us!

Her speech had a red dot on Iggy’s forehead but what do we know *sips tea.*
