With reality shows still taking over our TV screens, a new face has been added to the mix. Ja Rule is headed to MTV for his own series, Follow the Rules. Clever title and all, his show will mimic that of TI and Tiny’s series on VH1 as cameras invade his home and family.
The half-hour (sure to be comedic) docu-series will follow the rapper and his wife, Aisha, and their hectic family of three kids—18-year-old daughter, Brittany and two teens sons—and each partner’s mothers.
After doing a small bid in jail, coming out and devoting himself to bettering his life, this is the exposure he needs as he follows the route TI took towards his televised redemption.
“I am truly honored and excited to be partnering with MTV and 51 Minds to bring you my new show ‘Follow the Rules. Family tradition will never be the same b*tch… Lmao!!!”
Ja said in a statement, however his excitement was shared with the president of MTV programming, Susanne Daniels.
“Ja Rule is the modern day reality rap star version of Bill Cosby’s role from ‘The Cosby Show.’ He embraces a unique parenting style with his teenage kids that feels fresh and funny. We’re excited to be in business with him and his delightful family.”
Christian Sarabia, Queen Latifah, Shakim Compere, and Irv Gotti all share the executive producer title with Ja—real name Jeffrey Atkins.
