Last week, unarmed teenager, Mike Brown was unjustly killed by an unnamed St. Louis police officer.
The 18-year-old was college bound and for the most part a good kid, however ever since his death, unflattering images of him have been surfacing. Why? To make a case that he was a nuisance to society and his death was justified. Similar to the images that began circulating during the Trayvon Martin case that helped keep a guilty man out of jail.
Upset and enraged that images like these are what certain media platforms use to portray, the hashtag #IfIWereGunnedDown was created. Less than 24-hours since it started it become a trending subject as many people began posting juxtaposed images of them being respectable adults and others that create a completely different picture.
