Floyd Mayweather may be undefeated in the ring but not in the Twittersphere.
The boxer started a match he apparently doesn’t want to finish after allegedly dissing 50 cent in an interview with MLive.
“When people are not relevant, and they’re not moving units like they were once moving, you’ve got to realize, I’ve been relevant for 18 years—I don’t have anything to say about hip hop artist. A lot of times, you see a lot of these rap artists, they rap about certain things, but I really live it. Every home that I have is paid for, every car that I have is paid for, and I am a hundred-million-dollar man. I mean, this is the truth; it’s not a lie. I mean, if these guys claim that they’re doing certain numbers and certain units, we’ll see. My fight’s already sold out. You could take me anywhere. You could take me to the moon, and believe me, everybody’s going to try to take a trip to the moon to watch me fight.”
After hearing the comments, his former friend has called him out via Instagram and challenged him to an #ALS #IceBucketChallenge of his own. The rapper promises to donate $750k to the charity of Mayweather’s choice if he can read a full Harry Potter page aloud. The Money Team general didn’t respond within the 24 hours allotted to him—following the original game rules—so Power 105.1 released old audio of the boxer reading.
“All is fair in…” unless you need a speech pathologist. The slick-talking athlete has finally become the butt of many jokes and put himself in a battle, we aren’t sure he will win. Not choosing sides but finding the audio hilarious, his name has been trending all day. Twitter generated memes and tweets making Floyd the butt of many illiterate jokes. UPDATE: Floyd hasn’t responded to his reading rainbow challenge but he hit 50 with a bet of his own.
“i see your $750k & raise you a mill if you can post a vid of ur son saying he loves you”
Its Friday, flip the page, and laugh a little (even if its at Floyd Mayweather’s expense).
