What won’t Erykah Badu do?
Known for her hilarious and unpredictable antics, the soulful songstress became a musical panhandler. Of course she doesn’t need it, but it never hurts to ask.
During a random NYC night—which is every night—Erykah Badu strolled to Times Square, took off her gallon hat, flipped it upside down, and starting singing for money. Literally singing for money because her lyrics went something like:
“Give me some money. Please, sir, give me some money—Haven’t sold a record in about two years. Haven’t sold a record in a long time. A b-tch need some money.”
Her straight-forward, impromptu performance made her $3.60 richer! We doubt she’ll trade in her studio sessions to try her luck once more at Times Square, but we do thank her for brightening up our Thursday!
