A Complete History of Beyonce's 62 Grammy Nominations

Yesterday the 2017 Grammy Award nominations were announced. As expected, especially after dropping her critically acclaimed visual album, Beyonce is leading the pack with 9 nods.

She’s up for “Best Urban Contemporary Album,” “Best Music Video,” “Best Pop Solo Performance,” “Best Rock Performance,” “Best Rap/Sung Performance,” “Best Music Film,” “Song of the Year,” “Record of the Year,” and the coveted “Album of the Year.”

This is a great accomplishment, one that Bey is very familiar with as she holds the records as the female with the most Grammy nominations ever with 62.

2000

Still in Destiny’s Child, Beyonce along with her group got her first two nods. They were nominated in the “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group”and “Best R&B Song” category for “Bills, Bills, Bills.”

2001

Destiny’s Child got five nods in ’01. Four for “Say My Name” –“Record of the Year Nominated,” “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals,” “Best R&B Song” and “Song of the Year” category — and one for “Independent Women Part I” in the “Best Song Written for a Motion Picture, TV or Other Visual Media.”

They won two gramophones.

2002

They were nominated in two categories (“Best R&B Album” and “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals”) for their album ‘Survivor’ and won for the latter category.

In ’04 as a solo artists Beyonce received and won all five of the categories she was nominated in — “Best Contemporary R&B Album,” “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals,” “Record of the Year,” “Best R&B Song,” “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration,” and “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance.”

2005

Destiny’s Child gets nominated for “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals” for “Lose My Breath”

2006

Destiny’s Child gets 6 nominations: “Best Contemporary R&B Album,” “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance,” “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals,” “Best R&B Song, “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration,” and “Best R&B Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.”

They won in one category.

Beyonce got 3 nominations and took away one for “Best Contemporary R&B Album” for ‘BDay’

2008

Beyonce wouldn’t win any Grammys in ’08 but she was nominated 3 times.

2009

She was nominated in only one category, “Best Female R&B Vocal Performance”

2010 was when Beyonce would make history after she received 10 nominations and took home 6 awards.

2011

Beyonce would get 3 nods — “Album of the Year,” “Best Pop Collaboration with Vocals,” “Best Female Pop Vocal Performance” — in ’11 but take home 0 awards

2012

Bey received two nods — “Best Long Form Music Video” and “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration” — in ’12.

Bey won the only category she was nominated in, “Best Traditional R&B Vocal Performance,” for “Love on Top.”

2014

She didn’t win in the only category — “Best Rap/Sung Collaboration”– she was nominated in.

2015

Bey would take home three of her 6 nominations home.

2017

We’re hoping she wins in all 9 categories she is nominated in:

Lemonade Album of the Year
Best Urban Contemporary Album
Best Music Film
“Formation” Record of the Year
Song of the Year
Best Music Video
Best Rock Performance
Best Pop Solo Performance
Best Rap/Sung Performance

But we’ll have to wait until February 17th to find out.
