Not the Love of the Game, The Love of The Marriage: 18 Athlete Wives We Love

With all the groupies, baby mothers, and exes associated with pro-athletes, some times we forget the women who actually have a ring and are working on a real marriage.

No shade to the ride or dies who have been holding their man down for years, but this post is for the ladies that bare their man’s last name. The real athelete wives. The union of marriage is special so we want to praise those who’ve taken the oath, uphold their vows, and give us hope that real love continues to exist despite the million dollar contracts.

Take a look at 18 athlete wives we love.

Ayesha Curry

We’re kicking it off with one of our favorite wives, Ayesha Curry. While Stephen dominates the court, Ayesha owns the kitchen. And they both give us family and relationship goals as they show the younger generation a good example of young, black love.

Jada Paul

Jada Paul married and had two kids with her college sweetheart Chris Paul. And while they are lowkey compared to others mentioned, we couldn’t ask for a better couple to admire from afar.

Debbie Allen

Debbie Allen has been married to former pro-baller Norm Nixon for over 30 years. That’s a long time in real life but in Hollywood that is unheard of. So, we salute these two for taking their vows seriously and giving hope for a long lasting, happy marriage.

The Wades Are Headed to TV 'Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade Project'Gabrielle Union

Gabrielle Union is the girl every guy would want. She has her own (and lots of it), she’s athletic, and has a great sense of humor. So not does she keep him laughing but she challenges him on the court. We love this power couple, Dwyane Wade is lucky to snag this beauty.

Savannah James

High School sweethearts, the James are the poster for having it all. Lebron James is the MVP on the court but Savannah is his MVP.

Victoria Beckham

Mrs. Beckham has been our favorite since she went as Posh in her Spice Girl days. Marrying David Beckham just up’d her hot factor by making them one of Hollywood’s hottest couples for decades.

How one girl have all this Power. With Lala Anthony succeeding in her dreams you can for a second forget she falls in the category of athlete wives. But then you watch as she balances being a actress and best-selling author with being a wife and mother to remind yourself.

Kimberly Chandler

Mrs. Chandler has been married to Tyson Chandler for many years. Her philanthropic endeavors makes her a wife to admire.

Kerry Washington

Washington was apart of the athlete wives club for a very short time, but we’ll love her forever.  Her talent makes her an automatic favorite but her seclusive relationship makes what she has with Nnamdi Asomugha even that more special.

Holly Robinson Peete

Whether she’s acting or raising autism awareness, Mrs. Robinson Peete is an amazing woman. But she tops it all off with being a wife of 22 years and amazing mom.

Vanessa Bryant

Mrs. Bryant is definitely Kobe’s ride or die. We love her because she’s stuck by her husband through thick and thin. And he’s grown to appreciate her more because of it.

Valeisha Butterfield Jones

Dohntay Jones may be the professional baller but Valeisha is the catch. Her resume is packed with political influence. Mrs. Jones found success on her own, but supports her man because he gives her immeasurable amounts of love.

Tamia Grant

Tamia and Grant Hill These love birds have been married for 13 years. The parents of two are no stranger to spotlight as they juggle stardom in the music and athletic world. We salute Tamia for always being there for her family and being a true basketball wife.

Andrea Butler

Andrea and Caron Butler are a gorgeous and supportive couple. The mother of his three children has been by his side as he dealt with the ups and downs of basketball injuries and trades. Still on top, Andrea is proving that being a basketball wife is more than glitz and glamour

Ciara and Russell Wilson are the shortest married couple on our list but they still manage to be our favorite. She’s always been a favorite entertainer of ours and marrying Russell just gave her more points in our book.

Adrienne Bosh

Being a wife and mother to four kids is a fulltime job. But Mrs. Bosh still manages to have a career of her own while making her family feel like they are the only people in the world.

Gisele Bundchen

Whether you love or hate Tom Brady as a football player, you have to give him credit for snagging one of the hottests models in the game. We love Gisele because she’s shoots hot photos in between school functions with her kids and supporting her husband on the field.

Kijafa Vick

You haven’t met a ride or die until you’ve met Kijafa Vick. The wife to Michael Vick, she has been there through the ups and way, way downs of his career. Any woman that supports her man that way gets our utmost support.

Taj George

While she’s married to a NFLer hall of fame, her success isn’t just measured in her marriage. But also in her own career as 1/3 of SUV. If her love for her man doesn’t make you a fan, her classic tracks should.
